Collingwood supporters probably won't enjoy this, but Geelong may have done the Pies a favour by winning by three points last Friday night.
A lot of people won't know it, but the odds for Collingwood to go through the season undefeated were lower than the odds to be beaten in any individual match for the year.
Now, with a loss under their belt, Collingwood no longer have to stress about breaking records or proving that they can win every game. They can go into each match and play the best football they can.
Of course, they remain the favourites for the premiership, but this loss should take a few nerves off of players and staff who, though they would never admit it, would have had these thoughts brewing at the back of their mind since the start of the season.
